I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

I purchased a bell pepper for the first time this morning. I think it was also the first time I have had so many healthy foods in my cart at one time. It felt strange. Parsley, lemons, limes, cucumbers, celery, bell pepper, pineapple, pears, apples, blueberries...what could I be making, you might ask. I am going to make juice and have only fresh juice for three days. This is the difficult situation I mentioned in my earlier post "Godly Reminders."

When I gave up smoking it was easy compared to trying to give up unhealthy eating habits. You have to eat to survive. You never have to touch another cigarette again (and it is best that you don't) to survive. I am following a juice "reboot" that Joe Cross made a documentary about entitled "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead." I can relate to that title. My friend did a 30 day reboot and lost 30 lbs. Joe Cross lost 90 lbs. in 60 days (he went 60 days without solid food). Of course, the juice is more nutritious than most food we consume. Joe Cross showed in his documentary the link between all the health problems Americans face today and their fast food diet. Our body is not getting the nutrients it needs so it gets "sick" while we get "fat" and "nearly dead." The diet is so common sense based that it's like having blinders removed from your eyes, one of those "ah ha" moments. That is what I experienced after watching the video. So my goal is to make it through 3 days of drinking only juice and water, then eat micro nutrient foods for a few days, and do another fast, maybe 5 days. My friend is now fasting again for 25 days. She has already lost 10 lbs. in 4 days.

I am asking all my friends to pray for me. I gave up fast food and junk food for Lent (and hopefully for good) and I feel better already. The juice fast is the next step in my goal to become healthy spiritually, emotionally and physically. I know that I can do this but only with God's help. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
